GUIDELINES FOR CLASS

Leave your worries and concerns outside the class and enjoy devoting your time at
Yoga on Main to the health and wellbeing of your body, mind, and spirit!

Registration and Waiver form: You'll need to fill out a new Registration and Waiver form before the first class you take during each calendar year (and if anything changes).  Download here and bring it with you, or allow a little extra time when you arrive for your first class to fill it out at the studio.

Arrival: If you arrive more than 15 minutes early or while another class is in session, please wait quietly at the top of the stairs.  There are two restrooms in that area if you need to change clothes before class.

Cell Phones:  Please be sure to turn your cell phones or other electronic devices off or to "silent" or "vibrate ".

Clothing:  We'll be moving and stretching, so please wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement, preferably with elastic waist. You'll practice in your bare feet, but may wish to wear socks depending upon the temperature.  You may also want to dress in layers since you may heat up with movement and cool down during final relaxation.

Fragrances:  As we move the body heats up, emphasizing fragrances. Please be respectful of fellow participants by  refraining from wearing perfume or strong smelling personal hygiene products on the days you take a class. If you are a smoker, please refrain from smoking at least one hour prior to class.

Food:  It's preferable to practice Yoga on an empty stomach, especially as we may do some forward bends or twists that compress the stomach area.  If needed, have a light snack before sessions and if you have a blood sugar sensitivity, please do whatever is needed and recommended by your physician before your Yoga class. You may bring a water bottle to class.

* For children's classes, depending on the time of day feed your child before attending so that children do not arrive hungry, but are also not too full. Please refrain from bringing food to class.

Props: If you have an eye pillow, yoga mat or any other props you prefer to use, please feel free to bring them with you. We have some mats and a variety of other props (bolsters, straps, blocks, eye pillow, blankets, etc.) available for use during classes but quantities may be limited.
